AC PENNANT STARTS: A reminder to all members that the AC Pennant Season starts on 17 September. Lawn availability will be placed on the white board near the barbecue. Please check if there are lawns available for social play. Captains for 2018/19 season are A Division Tim, B Division Connie and C Division Deidre. We hope you all have an enjoyable season.

LAWN MOWING: Thanks Phil for mowing the lawn surrounds. If you can help with the general mowing and other outdoor work please let Tim know or email me. Your help would be appreciated especially as the grass starts to grow quickly as the weather warms up.

GO SEE TOURING: A group of around 16 croquet players will be attending our Club in the afternoon of Friday October 12. They would like to have a game of croquet here. If you would like to play a member of the touring group, would you let Di know or place your name on the list at the Club. Our Social Committee will be providing afternoon tea.

SPRING CELEBRATIONS: Change of date to Saturday 13th October

This is replacing our lawn Opening Event and it sounds very exciting Cost will be $10 and drinks to be purchased (wine and beer $4 and soft drink $2). The Committee will provide salad sausages and bread for a BBQ lunch. Association will be played in the morning and Golf in the afternoon. Please add your name/s to the sheet at the Club by Saturday Oct 6th if you are intending join us

SENIORS WEEK: Saturday 20 October. Two sessions: 10 am and 1pm. We will need members to be present to assist with the “come-and-try” activities. Morning and afternoon tea will be provided, thanks to the Social Committee.

RAFFLE: The Social Committee are organizing a raffle. A basket has been left at the Club for donations. Tickets will be on sale from the Spring Celebration event at a cost of $2 each or 3 for $5.

CLUB GOLF CROQUET CHAMPIONSHIPS: Information and entry forms for these Championships will be out soon. It is hoped all social golf and AC players will participate in at least one event. It is a fun competition, and a good way to mix with other Club members.

ETIQUETTE TIPS: In AC when games are doubled banked and players in different games get in each other’s way :

The play is normally given to

  1. the player making a break;
  2. The player who can move out of the way the quickest;
  3. The player whose time is almost up has precedence. Once the time has finished the other game whose clock is still running, has precedence.
