Welcome to the East Launceston Croquet Club
The Windiest Croquet Club in Tasmania
East Launceston Croquet Club
is on Windmill Hill and has been at that site since 1916. This is a designated area for low impact sports. We share the hill with a tennis club, bowls club and the new aquatic centre. The position is within walking distance of the CBD and there are a number of very good B & Bs in the immediate vicinity.
- Twilight games are held in summer with a sausage sizzle to follow
- Both Golf Croquet and Association competitions are played annually
- Club championships are played between November and March with the finals in April
- NTCA and TCA Competitions are played at NTCC (St Leonards)
Membership of the Club is capped at 40 as there is only one court. New players are welcome if the membership has dropped below this number. There are a few exceptions to this policy so any enquiry may be appropriate. Membership fees are $150 due in July.
Coaching is available by individual arrangement.
Club colours are cream, white and/or green. Flat shoes must be worn at all times.
Croquet is played every day of the week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday morning are golf croquet times.
Thursday afternoon is association croquet time and on Saturday afternoon both golf and association are played.
Visitors are welcome to any of these sessions.
