The Eastern Shore Croquet Club is located in Bellerive on Hobart's Eastern Shore.
It was founded in 1974. The site is leased from the Clarence City Council and was established through the hard work of its founding members who donated both physically and financially to its establishment. The land was formerly owned by the Education Department and purchased by the then Clarence Commission.
Eastern Shore has two well maintained courts which are available for play each day of the week throughout the year.
A functional clubhouse contains kitchen, meeting and toilet facilities and has an enclosed viewing area.
Whilst the club provides disability access there is no toilet facility.
The club offers Association and Golf Croquet formats.
Since its formation, Eastern Shore has had an Australian champion, numerous State champions and representatives and has competed with success in both AC and GC Pennants.
Members are able to play competitively or socially.
The membership year is January 1st to December 31st with an annual subscription set at the AGM.
Members maintain the facility on a voluntary basis.
The affairs of the Club are governed by a Constitution. A Committee of Management is elected at the AGM and meet monthly or as required.
Eastern Shore is affiliated with Croquet Tasmania and Croquet Australia. Members are registered with Croquet Tasmania.
A Newsletter is circulated electronically on a monthly basis. Hard copies are available.
It is requested that players be neatly attired.
Flat soled shoes must be worn on the courts.
