More open conditions of play from 17 June 2020
As the government has increased maximum numbers at a sporting venue to 80, there are effectively now no limits on members and visitors at the Sandy Bay Croquet Club, provided distancing is still observed.
Please note: All hygiene and social distancing rules are still in force. Please do not break these rules, for everyone's safety.
Twilight Croquet
From Wednesday 13 January until the end of February, Twilight Croquet returns to the Sandy Bay Croquet Club. Each Wednesday evening, from 5.30 until 7.30, we will welcome members of the public to try playing croquet in the beautiful summer evenings. If you have never played croquet before, an experienced player will show you how. Come with a group of friends or on your own!
The cost is $5 per session, with club members and anyone holding a current Taste of Croquet package free. BYO drinks and food, if you want. Flat soled shoes - e.g. trainers - are essential (no raised heels).
Only a ten-minute drive or bus ride from central Hobart, the Sandy Bay Croquet Club offers an excellent experience. Set in the picturesque recreational area of Lower Sandy Bay, the Club offers social games, competitions and social events. We have three superb playing lawns, full clubhouse facilities and all croquet equipment.
We play on six days of the week with Sunday free for coaching and practice. Our Club plays both association and golf croquet and there are opportunities for all levels.
